Another point overlooked - society and the economy (both people-based) rely extensively on the ecological capacity of the planet to provide goods and services. As that capacity is diminishing, we humans are smart enough to keep adding inputs to keep our head above the water, but we are not smart enough to understand we are sinking in ecological-induced inflation. It is not that we are that dumb, but it is hard to see the writing in the wall sometimes. On the good flip side is that we were to incorporate a crypto based on NCU (natural capital units) it would open up the next economic niche worth trillions (according to Black Rock). The NCU is the "missing link" to put incorporate just a bit of science into a policy-laden economic system.

And our monetary system is 52 years old. The NCU currency would be the Green Swan for the economy and the Black Swan for BRICS.
